Late 2018, the US producers of Unsolved Mysteries reached out to us for a cine documentary they were pitching to Netflix. It was about a famous French crime story known as the "Dupont de Ligonnes" case.
They’ve asked me to make research about the case, source the voices that could tell the story and all the people who had previously worked on solving the case. After a month of research, the pitch was ready, sent and approved by Netflix.
January 2019, we entered in the production process, budgeting the projet, hiring the best bilingual local crew, renting high rang camera, light and grip equipment, looking for various locations in Paris, Nantes and south of France.
The shoot took place in May 2019. It was decided that the voices of the story would be the attorney of the suspect’s family, a crime investigation journalist, a childhood friend, two neighbors and a retired policeman. We also had actors (the main suspect, the family members, policemen, forensic) and a lot of recreation scenes to shoot.
